SUMMER 2011 INFORMATION
The sun, the surf, the lack of homework… it all means one thing. Summer! Add shooting, passing, defense, driving, blocking, and mental toughness… and you have the 2011 Cal Polo Summer Program!
RULES:
For practices, the start time of practice is NOT the arrival time. That means players are to arrive no later than 10 minutes prior to start time, to properly stretch, change, and apply sunblock. Players are to arrive no later than 30 minutes prior to tournament games. Repeated late arrivals will result in loss of playing time, and will jeopardize your chances of being on the team in the fall or winter.
All players MUST be registered with USA Water Polo prior to the first tournament game. Register with our club team, BLACK THUNDER WATER POLO CLUB.
PRACTICE GROUPS:
For both boys and girls, there will be three practice groups. Please note these are NOT the final squad designations for the fall and winter seasons. These are level designations for summer only. A player may, at the coach’s discretion, be moved from one group to another. In addition, some players may be asked to play in both Varsity and JV tournaments, or JV and Frosh-Soph tournaments. The more games you play, the more experience you get, the better a player you become. A player may, at the coach’s discretion, be moved from one group to another. The Summer Program begins Monday, June 20, immediately following the last week of school.
There is, however, a Frosh Tournament game on June 17, which will be attended by next year’s sophomores. The Summer Program will last until Saturday, July 30, when we will have a Final Beach Workout Blowout. Please save this date, as this is a celebration of our summer season, a look forward to the future, and one of the only times all year our entire boys and girls programs are working out and celebrating together.
